FAQ - What is Live Edge wood?
Live Edge wood still has the natural edge of the wood, the outside of the tree. It carries the perfectly imperfect imprint of its original source. Making items with factory planed wood is easy, but soul-less.
In our view it's the knots, edges and grain which make wood wood.
In order to try and share just some of the wonder that the Forest provides every day, Live Edge Wood was set up to produce hand crafted, unique items which are as individual as you are.
All of the wood used is sustainably sourced, with much of it storm fallen trees, as well as from trusted New Forest suppliers.
Live Edge Wood is a passion.
After years working in soulless offices and chasing after endless corporate targets I just couldn't do it anymore.
Nature and creativity was calling me.
So away went the suit and tie. Out came the saws, sanders and safety specs.
The result? Yes some stunning one-of-a-kind furniture, handmade with love.
But also, more importantly, a happy and fulfilled Simon.
I'm living in harmony with nature and my surroundings. Being true to me.
